Bompas & Parr combine sensory dining with holistic health care.

The Museum of Future Government Services is a collaboration between the UAE government and the world’s leading futurists, academics, and designers, intended to inspire, educate and provoke questions. As part of the project, experience designers Tellart have created a life sized ‘Smart Street’ that takes visitors on a tour of future services through immersive and connected experiences.

The Pharmacafé by Bompas & Parr - curators of spectacular culinary events - is one such experience, set in a relaxing garden experience, combining sensory dining and holistic health care.

Upon entering the café, visitors are given a bespoke drink based on their DNA, obtained by a hand scan at the entrance. Ingredients ranged from violet to chamomile, turmeric, rosemary and lovage, all of which have their own medicinal benefits: turmeric helps to boost the BDNF hormone, while violet is used for its antiseptic qualities. Guests can also receive a restorative boost courtesy of assistants in lab coats pouring flasks of memory-enhancing peppermint mist and a ginger wellness mist floating from the shoulder-height bar.

Until recently, what we eat and drink has been left up to personal taste and dietary obligations. We've seen a rise in immersive and sensory dining experiences with the likes of The Waldorf Project, it's interesting to see the food industry now thinking about informed personal recommendations for customers on a clinical, health based level.
