We’ve recently featured the Madeleine device that captures elusive smells, and allows them to then be turned into liquid fragrances. Andrea Strata took the next step and designed a series of tools that aim to revolutionise the experience of shopping for perfume.

With Perfumery Tools, Andrea designed five products that aid the tiresome process of choosing a new scent. Each one of his five tools helps designers sell perfumes, and strengthen the image of their brand.

Les Plis are paper strips sprayed with scents, bent and cut in such way that improves the experience of scent-testing. They are there to replace the simple slips of paper that can currently be found in every perfume shop. Le Petit Orgue also aims to aid the shopping experience. The glass vessels are full of oils most commonly used in perfume-making. The indecisive buyers can test their senses, and see for themselves what kind of smell combination they like best. Les Cloches casks are filled with silk squares doused in perfume. This way, the scents becomes disaturated from alcohol, which usually distorts them.Myseterious-looking Le Flaire allows users to smell the perfume directly on their skin, and L'Helice lets scent connoisseurs see what their aftershave smells like to others.
