With the constant evolution of digital technologies, it's no longer possible to assume that all content has a set beginning, middle and end. Music videos morph and change for different users, and even TV can have interactive elements.
Well now the BBC have innovated the airwaves, with the development of the Perceptive Radio. Created by their R&D lab, the pilot broadcast is able to change based on the location of the user, pulling together data from external sources. Small details in the show can adapt, from the local places referenced, to the weather conditions based on what was happening in the real world.
As well as making the content more localised, the radio also includes a microphone which can monitor background noise to amplify certain sounds and improve the listening experience.
Its interesting to see how media is becoming increasingly immersive and tailored to individuals. Listen to the broadcast for yourself here.
