PEO can probably be classified as an innovation in gamification, though it takes a step back from the relatively complex software that's used with gamified technology like Zombies, Run! and Nike+ FuelBand.

Created by Janko Hoffman and Fabian Pammer, the Personal Energy Orb has one job: to limit the amount of time you can spend in front of your monitor without having exercised. PEO plugs into your computer charged with an allotted amount of energy. The longer you spend on your computer, the lower that energy gets. Once PEO turns from green to red, your mouse will become "annoyingly slow". The only way to remedy that is with exercise.

PEO then also attaches to your bicycle and charges as you pedal. Once the orb changes from red to green, you can plug it back into your computer for more guilt-free tech time.
