Kickstarter campaign ParaShoot 2.0 is an initiative by entrepreneur Matt Sandy that strives to offer ‘a fun, fast and fashionable way to capture life on the go’. Much like Squito, Socialmatic and Conran Camera before it, ParaShoot is a small portable camera, with HD Video, built in audio and internal memory.

However, what sets ParaShoot apart from its predecessors is its wireless capabilities, which enables it to work in conjunction with your smartphone device when activated through the accompanying app. The app (compatible with both ios and android platforms) acts as a viewfinder to see what is being recorded, and gives users control over the basic camera functions from their phone, allowing them to save and share their images and footage via their social networks.

While it is not the first, and certainly not the last of its kind, ParaShoot has some interesting functions in addition to the social sharing feature worth noting. Namely a default setting that allows users to record five minutes footage, every half-hour and customisable covers. Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and light enough to wear around your neck as a necklace, this kind of novel wearable technology is sure to appeal to tech lovers, and what’s not to love?
