Since we last told you about the mammoth opening party for London Pleasure Gardens, the LPG crew have pulled together even more awe-inducing performances to light-up the free Paradise Gardens Festival on 30th June, 2012.

We wouldnʼt expect anything less from a team that is comprised of the masterminds behind Glastonburyʼs Shangri-La, Mutate Britain, and Cordy House. Now only two weeks away, Paradise Gardens will run across LPGʼs opening weekend and showcase music, theatre, art, food and cultural adventures in the stunning 35,000 capacity wonderland. With an open invite for people of all ages, creeds and mindsets, high-culture lovers, low-culture lovers, the culturally indifferent and pensioners, Paradise Gardens is set to be a megahit triumph.

The line-up includes a spectacular fire and pyrotechnics show based around a breathtaking listed building and arranged by pioneering pyrotechnics/design collective The World Famous and music hall/artificial hip hop legend Ida Barr fresh from her Radio 4 series and in advance of her forthcoming National Theatre shows. The siteʼs 6000 capacity Big Top will feature live music from acts including The Guardianʼs ʻbest live band in the countryʼ Alabama 3, multimillion selling Reggae legends Musical Youth, international dancefloor sensations Ska Cubano and electro-dub innovators Dreadzone.

Food is on lock too, with a RIBA-designed Oyster Grotto serving up its namesake edibles plus eats supplied by connoisseurs Mad for Food and Londonʼs Borough Market founding traders Farmer Sharp and Hot Cross Baker. Drinks will come from the Soulshakers bars, and there will be plenty of spots to pick up a drink throughout the London Pleasure Gardens site.

If you donʼt know, LPG will be hosting this yearʼs Bloc festival, BT River of Music, Last Mile Festival which will be on everyday during the Olympics and many more ...
