Building a locally credible brand is fraught with challenges, not least of which is having the financial capital to let you venture into new territories. Our/Vodka is a new initiative put together by the luxury drink brand Pernod Ricard.

Setting up shop in a specially built distillery in the Kreuzberg district in Berlin, the vodka is produced by local experts, unavailable through the Pernod Ricard's traditional channels and sold exclusively in local bars. The intention of the project being to instill an element of genuine independence with a real grassroots appeal into a new brand.

It's interesting to see a global brand like Pernod Ricard taking such drastic measures to get a piece of the 'local-startup credibility' pie.
