Jack Kerouac’s classic 1957 novel On the Road has been released as a digital iPad App. The book’s publisher Penguin has followed the lead of Faber who recently had success with its The Waste Land app at the start of the month.

The On the Road app will feature a full version of the text, as well as audio clips of Kerouac reading an early draft, photographs of his family, video footage, a gallery of cover art, an interactive map covering the book's events, and reviews and writing about Kerouac himself.

We have previously featured how projects such as Bjork’s Biophilia are exploring the possibilities of the app market. Now it seems we can expect a wealth of extras from our literature too. You can download the On the Road app here.
