Sensoree are future concept designers who craft wearable technology and interactive installations that promote 'extimacy' or to the layman, 'externalised intimacy'. Sensoree technologies monitor the body and respond with visual perception and tactile feedback in the hope of forming a new type of social media, one that communicates how we are feeling without words. While these emotion-based designs promote body awareness and insight with an element of fun, their underlying principle is to help people with Sensory Processing Disorder, a condition where their brain has difficulty interpreting incoming stimulus.

Sensoree’s latest design NEUROTiQ is a 3D-printed knitted wig with an EEG brain sensor that glows different colours depending on the wearer’s thoughts or brain state. 'Delta' or deep sleep shows up as red, 'Theta' state or meditation show up - orange, Alpha or relaxed - teal green, Beta or alert - blue, and Gamma is multi sensory brain state, so it shows up as blue, purple, and red.

This isn’t the first venture into visual mind reading we’ve seen. The Unseen Headress also combines unusual wearable tech with mind-reading elements, taking a more directly functional approach, the MindRDR works by combining Google Glass with Neurosky’s EEG mind control sensor, which wirelessly sends raw brain data of two mental states: attention and meditation. Using this data, This Place has managed to programme in functionality for taking a photo, and then sharing it on social media.
