The online luxury fashion retailer's new shopping app is the Instagram of e-commerce

Net Set is the latest attempt to master the e-commerce fashion app.  Launched by luxury retail giant, Net-a-Porter, Net Set allows users to sign up to share images and looks, alongside brands, designers and other fashion personalities. Taking major cues from Instagram, the app, which is available on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, will allow people to create profiles, fill it with Net-a-Porter delights, and follow friends, trendsetters and “style tribes”. If an image and item of clothing take your fancy you can buy it directly from the app. There’s even an in-built technology that allows users to identify a garment in other people's images.

Net-a-Porter are attempting to crack a market with vast potential.  As mobile commerce becomes more and more of a force in the retail market (Apple Pay has the potential to eradicate the wallet completely), brands need to provide more user-friendly platforms to shop. However, Net Set is already under some stiff competition with the likes of Spring occupying big territory in the mobile e-commerce space.

Net Set will launch on 13 May for those with an early invite, while the rest of us will have to wait until later on in the year to enjoy its benefits.
