RCA graduate Gemma Roper has designed a Spotify enabled radio that allows you to select music by tempo
For her graduation show at the Royal College of Art, product designer Gemma Roper created Radio Activity - a metronome for your mood.

The device pairs with Spotify and features a single dial that moves vertically to mimic a metronome for tempo selection. “The device explores physical and tactile interfacing for online music without a screen through the use of an overtly reduced aesthetic that becomes the central focus for interaction,” explains Roper on her website.

Simply move the dial up or down the sliding scale depending how up/down beat your mood is, and Spotify will pick a song at random matching that BPM. It’s not only a novel way to discover new music but a beautiful way to blur or digital and physical worlds.

It's nice not having to think about what music to put on. Melomind is a wearable headset that uses EEG data from sensors to measure users’ brainwaves. It then uses this data to create a playlist to suit your changing brainwaves, all with the aim of helping you to relax.
