Moment Factory have been commissioned by LAX airport to create a series of huge art installations for the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

The Montreal based studio are collaborating with Smart Monkeys Inc and Electrosonic to form a team of over 400 individuals, working towards creating stunning visual experiences. Visitors touching down in LAX will be greeted with a ‘Welcome Wall’ and a ‘Bon Voyage Wall’ as they depart, both constructed from a series of screens displaying hours of video footage that alternates according to real-time journey information.

Another feature of this impressive undertaking is the ‘Time Tower,’ a monolithic structure stretching 72 feet high, constructed using 6,480 square feet of programmable LEDs. The tower changes composition according to the time of day and the individual movements of LAX travelers.

Just like Kinetic Rain at Singapore’s Changi International Airport, this project seeks to bring striking artworks to the typically placid and dull environment of an airport terminal.
