Any object at all can be instantly transformed into a toy thanks to a wearable tech Kickstarter that has raced past its funding goal with over two weeks to go.

Moff is a smart Bluetooth-enabled bracelet packed with motion sensors that feed information back to a special iPhone app. When worn, different modes of 'play' can be selected on the app, with the band then understanding how an object will be used when it's picked up - emitting sound effects corresponding to the wearer's movements. With a sprinkle of imagination, the gesture sensors take the fun of the Wii outside and away from the screen.
Otherwise ordinary items are transformed into virtual tennis rackets, samurai swords or laser guns. Although these elements are provided, Moff looks set to actually foster fantasy-based play because the toy is limited to bringing objects to life through sound - the rest is up to imagination and inventiveness.
The project is reminiscent of Loop, another device which utilises technology to promote physical activity. Sporting a motion sensor, headphones, and a baked-in gaming platform, Loop creates real world games of tag or capture the flag, as well as tracking physical activity and providing stories as context for the challenges.
