The xx have done a good job promoting their sophomore release, Coexist (for example, their dynamic data visualization). The band's latest effort comes in the form of a sound installation produced in partnership with audio experts Sonos.

The "Missing" installation, designed in conjunction with Matt Mets, Aramique Krauthamer and Kyle McDonald, is currently on display at Sonos Studio in Los Angeles, California. Meant to explore "the relationship of man and machine, two hacked Kinect cameras direct 50 speakers as they follow visitors around the space. The result (above) is equally eerie and mesmerizing.

Kudos to The xx, Sonos, and everyone else involved for taking the Coexist album to the next level. With so much music so readily available, aspiring and established artists should take note.
