Celebrating older people and the skills they have to offer
The Royal Voluntary Service, a charity that enriches the lives of older people and their families across Britain, is hosting a festival to showcase the oft-forgotten artisanal skills that older generations grew up mastering.
GrandFest will unfold across the whole of Old Street, London with a number of talented ‘GrandMakers’ hosting masterclasses at various venues in and around the creative hub. Masterclasses will include soft furnishing, bread making, crocheting, wood turning, dancing, flower arranging, preserve making and home brewing. The festival will also offer a range of food and drink stalls, a pop-up shop and the GrandFest stage, where performers old and young will entertain festivalgoers.
