Starting in June, folks in Omaha Nebraska will be treated to rainbows twice daily. Comissioned by the Bermis Centre, Michael Jones McKean has mastered the manufactured rainbow – using a series of high-powered jet pumps and custom fountain nozzles, water is sprayed into the air creating the conditions needed for a rainbow.

All water used is recycled rainwater and a solar system generates the power necessary to power it, meaning it really is only sunlight and rainwater making these rainbows, albeit just a bit trickier than usual. The rainbow can be seen from up to 1000ft away and will be visible for around 20 minutes, see more images here.
