Pioneering Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen has collaborated with product designer Jolan Van der Wiel to create a line of dresses inspired by the forces of nature. Made from a mixture of iron filings, resin and fabric, the dresses were 'grown' over three weeks using Van der Wiel's magnet-growing technique to 'pull' the dress fabric into shape. We've seen this technique used to create furniture before but this is their first foray into fashion.

Its interesting to see fashion designers pushing boundaries and increasingly experimenting with technology and natural phenomena to create complex collections.
