Lucky Prawn combines a number of things we can never get enough of: careful curation, the power of surprise and a fondness for tactile and sensory experience. Operating a bit like surprise delivery services Svbscription or Not Another Bill, each quarter the Melbourne-based art collective will be putting together six hard-to-find, innovative or limited edition objects from the art, design and publishing worlds and distribute via the post or at a pick-up event to those who've placed an order.

The exact content of each package remains undisclosed but they’re guaranteed to be unique and certain to be comprised of hand-selected products from small-scale artists. Pack One was made up of six items from six different cities and tapped into almost all the primary senses with goodies such as a pair of AiAiAi headphones, a vinyl, a print and Market Lane Cascara tea. By acting as a self-proclaimed shit filter and championing lesser-known and diverse artistic talents, Lucky Prawn is a positive reaction against the abundance of ‘stuff’ cluttering the real and virtual worlds. If you’re tempted by Pack Two, head here to find out more.
