For the last fifteen years the small Swiss town of Langenthal has hosted the biannual Designers' Saturday event. This year students of design college Écal have taken it upon themselves to present 'The Low-Tech Factory', a light-hearted series of contraptions that aim to slow down the production process and allow viewers to focus on the mechanics involved.

Machines include 'Oncle Sam', a hand powered machine that cooks popcorn one kernel at a time and 'Rocking-Knit', a rocking chair that knits hats.

It's an interesting exhibition that re-interprets and manipulates the traditional manufacturing processes. Check out the videos below for more information.
