LinkMe
A bracelet that acts both as a piece of minimal jewellery and as an extension of your smartphone.
Despite the fact that we are constantly attached to our phones, checking Twitter, Facebook and emails on the go, reading that all-important text message is still frowned upon in meetings.
A Kickstarter project, LinkMe is an eye-catching LED bracelet that connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth. It displays texts and social media messages via text that scrolls across its screen, much like an old-school LED word board. It is much easier to discreetly glance at a bracelet on your wrist, rather than your vibrating phone.
After installing the app on the smartphone, users can choose what alerts they want to receive on LinkMe, including social media updates. The smartbracelet also functions as a watch. So far it has raised nearly $34,000 out of its $100,000 goal, with 24 days to go. Although there is nothing that ‘subtle’ about the actual design of the bracelet, it has a nostalgic feel about it and an equally simple function.
