With social media now a part of everyday life, it's becoming more and more integrated with our usual routine. But how important are social media sites? Considering most of us can’t imagine modern life without them, it's clear that they have some hold on society.

Digital artist Geoffery Lillemon and jewellery designers and occasional DJs, Stööki, have teamed up to challenge our dependance on Facebook et al. In collaboration with Adidas Originals, they've created an interactive digital art project directly linked to Facebook; more specifically Facebook 'likes'. In Like to Death, the Grim Reaper acts as the protagonist of sorts - with the user playing God. Each 'like' causes Death himself to die and each non-like leaves the character alive. With 'likes' now playing an apparently vital role in the popularity of political groups to local bakeries - it's interesting to see artists and brands challenging this idea. If social media were to 'die' how much would it really affect us?
