Wearables monitoring our physical fitness, activity and general health may have become part of everyday living, but now there's a bracelet to help aid a good night out. Lightwave was developed by Rana June, co-founder and VP of marketing at Medialets, who also happened to be an iPad DJ pioneer.

Having taken some time out, June returned choosing to mix her tech and music experience. “When you’re a performer, you have no idea if the guy in the back of the room is having fun or not,” June says, Lightwave changes that by collecting and visualising crowd data, the wristband measures a number of different user interactions — movement, audio levels, and temperature and responds with a variety of different colours and flashes. With attendees also able to unlock certain events based on different activity levels, the performer is given the information needed to augment a unique experience with each performance. Like 3-D glasses the bracelets can be re-used and so returned at the end of each performance. The technology launched at this years SXSW with a Pepsi sponsored exclusive 'bioreactive' concert with DJ A-Trak.
