If you've been to Covent Garden recently you may have come across a transparent greenhouse made entirely out of LEGO bricks perched inconspicuously on the North Piazza. It's there to harken in the London Design Festival, which is just a few days away.

London-based Sebastian Bergne was commissioned to construct the experimental structure, which explores how LEGO bricks can have a function beyond the playroom. The greenhouse contains real plants and is lit up at night.

The juxtaposition of the living and the synthetic are one aspect of the work, while the other opens the door to even more architectural experiments with the plastic building blocks in a real-world context.
