Recently we've covered quite a few projects that make simple beats in non-traditional ways (Dyskograf, Surface Sonification, The Sound of Earth, and Graphics Speak).

Officially titled SoundMachine, Mark Crosbie's beat sequencer continues the above tradition using some relatively simple software and hardware, and of course everybody's favorite building blocks.

After a simple sequence is laid out using square Legos, it's scanned and each respective colour is converted into a MIDI note. The sequence is then played in Ableton Live. Simple!
