Earlier this month, in collaboration with the London Design Festival, we held a Forum to discuss the rise and future of the maker movement, how the consumer is becoming more involved in the creation of their own products and what it all means for the traditional production industry.

Speaking we had:

Daniel Charny, creative director of From Now On, curator and design educator From Now On. His exhibition “Power of Making” for the V&A and Crafts Council was their most visited free exhibition since 1950.

Paul Smyth, cofounder of Makerversity, a space for manufacturing start-ups. They provide equipment, materials and guidance to help people develop their skills and business ventures.

Ben Alun-Jones is the co-founder of Knyttan, a factory space where people can design, submit and create their own clothing on a series of hi-tech industrial knitting machines.

And moderating all this we have Duncan Riches of and Associate.

Keep an eye out for our next Forum, coming soon.
