French heritage brand Lacoste, has returned to its integral traditions of design and innovation through its new LAB collection.

Founded by tennis champion, Rene Lacoste, the brand has always remained loyal to the sport within its branding and concepts. Recognising the future expansion of the brand, the Lacoste LAB offers items that acknowledge a range of other sports. The LAB strengthens this project by reaching out to similar brands known for their expertise in sports design.

The collection features collaborations including Mitre for football and rugby balls, a bike produced by Look and the Black Crows contributed its skis to the LAB. A surfboard engineered by Notox and shaped by J.P.Stark was also provided for the project. Reinforcing the brand among these elegantly designed pieces, the items are all stamped with the famous crocodile logo whilst the sole use of white and green pays homage to the colour pallette of a tennis court.

The LAB collection and its collaborative projects aim to highlight the brand's respect for function within sports as well as design. The project also advertises Lacoste's ability to break into new markets and its potential to work with other brands.
