Kapture is a new piece of wearable tech, developed by Mike Sarow and Matthew Dooley, with a high-quality, omni-directional microphone that’s always on so users can record the last 60 seconds of whatever was said in a conversation with one simple tap.

An LED notifies users that Kapture is on, a buzz let’s them know an audio ‘klip’ has been saved, while a bluetooth connection allows them to wirelessly upload to a custom smartphone app where a joke, memorable moment or note-to-self can be edited down to the perfect time-frame.

“We feel 60 seconds is the right duration for capturing the most important part of what you just heard without giving you too much audio to edit and share,” say the creators. “That said, you can use our smartphone app to record longer segments.”

Some have raised privacy concerns about the gadget, but Kapture is quick to point out the device comes in a range of bright colours, including orange and gold, making it deliberately noticeable to others and, perhaps more importantly, attractive and customisable.

At our recent forum on The Future of Wearable Tech we saw designers creating innovative applications for the technology while focusing in more on style, all of which is set to make 2015 an exciting year for the industry.
