Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has created a new search engine that takes an altogether more social approach to answering users’ queries. Named Jelly, the platform utilises users’ social networks to answer questions primarily based on - but not limited to - images. Designed with improved semantics in mind and aimed at providing more context to answers, Jelly works within your existing networks in a merging of social media, crowd-sourcing and information so that your questions can potentially be answered almost instantly by your switched-on friends.

It's an interesting example of there still being value in the human aspect of our online behaviour. Jelly suggests that we can't rely on algorithms just yet, no matter how accurate or advanced they are.

Jelly is available to download for free from the App Store.
