Remember when you were little and you thought that in the future we’d be living more like the Jetsons? Well, research at the University of Washington is looking to get us just that much closer with the possibility of the world’s first Internet accessible contact lens. The research team behind this genius idea has so far managed to create semi-transparent microscale electronics, so the Internet would in theory be viewable from a miniature LCD display that sits on the eye's surface. This could be ultimate augmented reality experience, with general browsing, watching videos and working changing completely. This research lends itself medically to creating bionic eyesight and a means to alleviate blindness.
