Instacart
A new online service aims to make grocery shopping an easier, more diverse experience.
How many times have you gone to more than one place for groceries? Simply ordering online from one source is sometimes not enough to get everything you need. After all, variety is the spice of life. Enter Instacart, the San Francisco-based grocery delivery that uses a crowdsourcing model to collect a customer’s groceries order and sends it to a personal shopper.
Using the web to order groceries is nothing new, but as evidenced by Hyperlocal Market, consumers are looking for more variety in their online options. Unlike traditional grocery delivery services, Instacart allows the customer to select several major US grocery store chains like Whole Foods, Safeway, Costco, and Trader Joe’s and with 30,000+ products to choose from, the options are almost limitless. The service then sends it’s customers orders to over 200 independent Bay Area personal shoppers. Delivery is available same day, with some orders being available within the hour, at a low cost to the customer.
Customers can also order on Instacart app for iPhone. The clean, easy to use app brings a whole new level of convenience to the grocery store experience.
