Lego has launched a new advertising campaign entitled 'Imagine' with the help of Hamburg-based ad agency Jung Von Matt. The adverts take cult classic cartoons such as South Park, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Smurfs amongst others and depict the characters using Lego pieces, leaving the viewer to graduallly work out which is which through the minimal visual cues.

The campaign is a case of ‘less is more’ and proves that it doesn’t have to be about catchy phrases or a hard sell. It’s a series of simple and appealing adverts that grab your attention, make you pause, think a bit and then smile. Lego campaigns never fail to inspire and amuse and they capture the brand essence perfectly. And this campaign will appeal to the target demographic (parents buying the Lego who will know the cartoons, rather than their kids).
