An entire Tokyo monorail was recently transformed into a fully decorated, colourful showroom to celebrate IKEA's latest locale near Tachikawa station.  

“IKEA Party Train" saw patterned rugs and other home accessories changing the carriages into a cosy, intimate space where visitors were able to interact with the furniture within. What was also transformed was the commuters’ journey: blend seats became sofas upholstered in IKEA fabric and covered in pillows, while rugs, lanterns and curtains completed the makeover. Snacks and drinks could be found on the coffee and end tables.

With this, IKEA proves that just about anywhere can be transformed from a narrow, functional area into a vibrant, comfortable space.
