Looking for a no-frills place to stay in Berlin? Hotel Minimal is a great choice, so long as you don’t mind strangers seeing right into your room. The new one-room hotel based on the ground floor of a building is part of an art installation by the Linie Project in the city's Mitte district. The single guest room contains just a bed, light, water, some coffee...and a big window which passers-by can peer through. By staying in the room, the guest becomes the subject of the artwork. The experimental project blurs the lines between private and public spaces through the ‘shared public’ hotel room. It’s an interesting exploration into voyeurism, and how a person can be made the subject as part of an art project.
