Hotel brand Marriott International has created a Facebook game as a recruitment drive to try and fill up to 50,000 job vacancies by the end of the year.

In the style of social games such as Farmville, the My Marriott Hotel Facebook game lets players manage their own virtual hotel, with responsibilities such as keeping the kitchen well stocked, hiring and training staff and attending to customers. Players can earn points for happy customers, but also run the risk of losing points for poor service.

The game is aimed at an international market with the option of playing in a wide variety of languages. As brands are looking for a more tech-savvy work force we anticipate that we will see a lot more examples of digitally led recruitment drives.
