Always interesting musician Beck recently reimagined David Bowie's 1977 song "Sound and Vision" on a grand scale, with a lot of help. The performance was a spectacle, but for those who weren't fortunate enough to catch it live, it's now being presented online as a 360° experience.
The load time for watching Beck's Hello, Again is anywhere from 10 (ND) to 30 (HD) minutes, but it's worth the wait. The single-song concert features more than 160 musicians playing alongside Beck, and was captured using 360° video and sound. Once the site has loaded you have a few choices of where to watch from, and facial tracking software lets you pan the concert by moving your head. If that sounds like too much work, you can always switch to the linear cut (above).
Beck worked with car brand Lincoln, director Chris Milk (The Exquisite Forest), and conductor David Campbell, as well as a crack team of A/V engineers, to the pull the concert and 360° digital experience off.
