Heist Studios have answered the problems of many with their ultra simpilfied range of tights. According to Dieter Rams, good design is as little as possible. Less is better because the design is not burdened with non-essentials, letting the simplicity of the product stand out. The design of tights has barely ever changed, but that's not to say the garment isn't in need of improvements. Heist Studios is a new company set out to refine the design of tights as we know it.

By speaking directly with their consumers, Heist Studio managed to discover exactly what they were finding problematic with the design of the tights. Their resulting product accommodates the needs and wants of a 21st century tight wearer, with creative campaign projects produced in collaboration with artists and photographers.

Heist Studios' answer to leg wear is completely seamless apart from one small seam which is cleverly positioned three millimetres underneath the toes to give a streamlined silhouette throughout. The Italian double covered yarn has a thread count with 5x the spirals of a regular pair of tights, and the waistband is hand sewn onto each pair - available in two heights which perfectly follow the contours of the body.

And the brand doesn't stop there. They're on a humble mission to reimagine the binary representation of women in advertising campaigns, where for the most part they're depicted as either the madonna or the whore. Teaming up with various photographers and artists, Heist Studios explore the female form in unusual ways and in turn represent the multi-faceted aspect of the tights.

Heist Tights are representative of a preference for slow, sustainable garments over fast fashion - which you can find out more about in our Slow Report. The tights are available to purchase now via their website,
