As part of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, department store La Rinascente's has been taken over by 'Hacked', a project curated by Beatrice Galilee. The project is billed as, '100 hours of rebellious creativity,' and is a series of experimental events taking place in the flagship store which offer visitors playful, futuristic and interactive experiences. Hacking, modifying and customizing will be celebrated in all its glory, as the store becomes turned into an experimental lab space both inside and out.

The outside of the building, for example, has been 'hacked' by architects Carmody Groarke who have installed metal mesh cylinders around the colonnaded facade. And as well as the Handmade Particle Accelerator event we mentioned on Monday, the project sees a whole series of exciting, interactive projects such as food performances from Honey & Bunny and a 'Moon Colony trading post' from WCTM. There's even a 'Hacked Lab' stage in the shape of a truck from EXYZT.
