The Beck’s Green Box Project has just been nominated for the Design Museum’s mega prestigious 2012 Designs of the Year awards. Names among the nominations for the best in architecture, digital, fashion, furniture, graphics, product and transport include the Olympic Torch by Barber Osgerby, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress for the Duchess of Cambridge and the first ever Virtual Tesco Store. Big list.We’ve been championing the design and technology of the Green Box Project ever since it’s launch on 4th July, 2011. The global art fund project uses an incredible 2m³ acrylic sculpture by acclaimed designer Jason Bruges as its core platform for augmented reality artworks.You can check out all the nomination at the Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum from 8 February - 15 July 2012. Winners for each of the seven categories and an overall winner for the Design of the Year 2012 will be announced at an Awards Night held at the Design Museum on 24 April. Stay tuned for more details.
