Created by the Research Team at Microsoft, Gigapixel ArtZoom is an interactive snapshop of Seattle designed to celebrate its thriving art scene. Featuring over 100 different participating local artists and street performers, the interactive image is a 360-degree panoramic of the city's skyline, stitched together by a patchwork made up of billions of pixels. Strewn throughout this scene are performances by the contributing artists. Like a modern day Where's Wally (or Waldo depending on where you are in the world), you use your keyboard or mouse to navigate these scenes as the project invites you to explore the city with surprising and often unexpected results.

A quirky showcase for Microsoft's Photosynth app which allows you to capture panoramas on the go with either your iPhone or Windows Phone - the Gigapixel ArtZoom is a fun and lighthearted community minded project. Hoping to introduce the public to Seattle native art talent, it reminds us of #noshittyphotos which helped masses of avid photographers and Instagrammers get the right snap of cities they're visiting, merging both travel and discovery with art and aesthetic appreciation.
