Future Plans by Jess Littlewood
An exhibition featuring a series of distorted, beautiful landscapes made up of collected images.
Compiling assorted images from various archives, St Martins’ alumni artist Jess Littlewood's latest exhibition, Future Plans, aims to create a set of eerie pieces that present both haunting apocalyptic landscapes as well as optimistic new beginnings. Drawing upon symbolism as diverse as utopian cults, sinister rituals and psychedelic, coloured triangles, Littlewood’s collection is as surreally beautiful as it is terrifying.
Questioning the nature of human belief systems that mark our past and inevitable future, the exhibition makes a chillingly elegant statement about our place in the universe.
Catch it at our gallery, 18 Hewett Street, from 1st November.
