The Financial Times has just launched a new interactive campaign in New York's Grand Central station called Graphic World. The project is a thought-provoking exploration of world business and global relations which features three 3D infographics created in conjunction with the acclaimed artist David McCandless, author of Information is Beautiful.

The infographics focus on three main areas: the position of the US within the economic global market, the mobile technology revolution and the global recession and recovery. Passers-by are invited to move around and interact with a large touch sensitive floor mat which controls the visuals and the information that is displayed on a large screen in the station's Vanderbilt Hall.

The campaign highlights how data visualization projects can engage public audiences and help to explain complex systems through effective storytelling. Head over to the campaign website to watch videos of the infographics and find out more.
