We’re always interested to hear about new and innovative ways of improving our cityscape. A few weeks ago we told you about the Bold Tendencies project, taking place on Peckham’s multi-storey car park. It has invited people to use the top floor of the complex to view artwork and a purpose built café created by design studio Practise Architecture.   Running on the same theme, the Royal Institute of British Architecture’s Forgotten Spaces project calls on architects, artists, engineers, planners and landscape designers from across the country to put forward their ideas to transform spaces in locations of their choice in London and Sheffield. Last week it released its shortlist of the 138 schemes submitted. The entries shortlisted include a café on Lambeth’s South Pillar of the Hungerford and Golden Jubilee bridges and a proposal to turn Crystal Palace into a 1930’s firepit. Head to the Forgotten Spaces website to check out the selection for yourself.
