Seems like ads for mobile phones these days just feature the model with a virtual hand hovering above it...Yes, we want to know all the tricks the phone can do but it's nice every so often to get some advertising that isn't quite so obvious. Step aside for the NTT Docomo’s Touch Wood SH-08C, a phone that's got a case made of wood. The company called in Morihiro Harano of Drill Inc. for a little help in showing off the phone and what he came up with was the Forest Xylophone, an incredible video of a wooden ball that uses the forces of gravity to drop it down a mega long xylophone set up in the middle of the woods. The result? Bach's Cantata 147 - played by the tiny ball. It takes a little while to get going but the video is awesome. The phone looks pretty good too, the wood used for the phones come from hinoki wood thinnings from Nakatoso meaning each model has a different colour and grain. We've seen a lot of wooden casing pop up recently for iPads, wallets, and whatever else accessory. Maybe if there was a little xylophone playing to accompany the products we would've paid more attention.
