The democratization of photography has reached its next level with Foap, a new smartphone app that allows smartphone users to make money with their photos. Every time an image is used, Foap makes $10 and gives 50% to the photographer.

Foap only accepts unfiltered pictures and the photographer can choose whether the photos can be used for commercial or editorial purposes. With this simple concept, the small Swedish team behind the app hopes to turn Foap into the world’s largest marketplace for smartphone photos. It is also a nice way of encouraging amateur photographers to make good, natural-looking photos – and a bit of cash at the same time.

Foap is still in its early stages but rapidly growing, find out more here.
