It’s that time of the year when we pay attention to all the marvelous things that are happening at the Milan Design Week. FLUIDIC – Sculpture in motion is a striking installation made up of 12,000 lucent spheres suspended above an artificial water pond.

The fruit of the collaboration between Hyundai’s Design Center and design studio WHITEvoid, the sculpture introduces Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy that draws inspiration from the transformation of the natural world. FLUIDIC uses six Kinect cameras for visitor tracking and eight high-speed lasers to project a dynamic light pattern into the floating cloud. Viewers can interact with the sculpture in real time, changing the dim and bright spots and transforming it into a dazzling living cell.

FLUIDIC is on display at the Temporary Museum for New Designin Milan until April 14th.
