Fierce festival is an art and performance festival that has been taking place in Birmingham since 1998. After having a two year break, the festival will be back up and running for two weeks from the end of this month. Visitors can expect live performances, art installations, city walks, gigs, parties and culinary feasts – all happening across various Birmingham institutions and landmarks. The festival promises to represent local and international talent and to focus on the surreal and unexpected (a full-size reconstruction of the UN Congress with delegates represented by real life dachshunds anyone?).

It might be one of a number of art and performance festivals that takes place throughout the country, but it’s also one that promotes and focuses on maintaining long term relationships with artists (rather than replacing them each year with completely fresh talent) whilst also celebrating Birmingham and enhancing people’s views towards it.
