A high quality stationary brand has come up with an eye-catchingly different spin on the traditional book cover for its spring collection.
Crafted by Field Notes, the Colors line is bound together with three gold staples and ruled in 'Maidenhair Green', but perhaps most striking are the completely wooden covers, serving as a visually pleasing reminder to where paper actually comes from. American Cherry wood was sourced from hand-picked trees in the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin regions, and owing to the natural textures of the wood, no two of the covers are the same. They're uncoated save for minimal, white, translucent text that lets the unique wood patterns peek through from beneath.
Another recent, interesting approach to the humble notepad is Mod by NeedWant - which provides beautifully put-together books that can be posted to the manufacturer and fully digitised, free of charge.
