Placebook the interactive map by Czech based creative studio Geographics looks at the global distribution of the 600 million strong Facebook community. Breaking down by country, age and proportion of internet population, the map gives a great overview of the demographics of the social network.

Interestingly Iceland, with 59%, is the country with the highest proportion of internet population with a Facebook membership. The Balkan states and Central America have the youngest users, while the US, Scandinavia and the Benelux nations have the highest proportion of older users.

The web app also allows you to plug in your own Facebook account to visualize your friends locations and their proximity to each other.

Geographics aim is to interlink the value of information with the elegance of graphic design, which is a pretty cool mission statement.
