The upcoming Eyeo Festival in Minneapolis is celebrating art, interaction and information and how some of the best creative minds are using new technologies to combine these areas and push them into new, exciting directions. They’ve got some big hitters too, Aaron Koblin, Casey Reas, Feltron, and Jer Thorp. 27th to 29th June, the 3 day festival is packed with talks from designers that are changing the way we are thinking about and experiencing data.

Visualizing.org are teaming up to put on the Eyeo Data Visualization Challenge, a hands-on competition challenging the world’s design community to create an interactive portrait of the US by visualizing the 2010 census data.

Around 74% of US households filled out the national survey, which is the most extensive to date. Tickets to the Eyeo Festival sold out fast, but the top prize for the Data Challenge is a pass with fully paid travel and accommodation. Entries close on the 16th of May so get in quick by applying at Visualizing.org, and load up that Adobe creative suite!
