Self-proclaimed DIY 'anti-IKEA' kits have been the focus of many designers recently. We previously featured the customisable Timber range, that can be assembled at home and is made only from bio resin and wood.

Holland-based designer David Graas' latest project offers even more freedom – Everything But the Manual offers an endless number of combinations when it comes to how it can be assembled. It consists of 260 thin oak pegs that can be secured to one another with screws and bolts. When designing his kit, David took human dimensions into account, as well as the sizes of standard household objects. This way he made sure that his kit would allow to make fully-functional pieces of furniture, rather than just abstract pieces of art.

He provides few design suggestions for assemblage of tables, lamps and other objects. However, it is down to the user if he wants to follow them, or go at it alone.
